Minor set back - Caught a cold

Sunday, March 31, 2024 - 556 days until 50

Haven't put much effort into improving health as I have been blessed with a cold virus.

Spending time resting is pretty much all I have done in the past several days.

<fingers crossed> I will be able to get some treadmill time in tonight to kick start the Treadmill Madden gaming.

If I follow the NFL primetime schedule of Thursday, Sunday, and Monday nights I would mean:

1 week for pre-season (3 games)

6 weeks for regular season (17 ganes)

1 week for play offs (4 games max)

With 22 weeks and 5 days until kick off of the 2024 season, I could complete 2 seasons and most of a third.

Treadmill Gaming - Madden 24

 Monday, March 25, 2024 - 562 days until 50

Now that I have created enough space to actually open the treadmill, I need to get the gaming set up.

I was using the Xbox Windows 11 ap to remotely play Madded 24, but recently that has been an absolutely atrocious experience. To get past this, I plan to install Madden 24 on the little PC I have attached to the basement TV.

Xbox Gamepass combined with EA PLay for the win.

Todays goal: Install Madden 24 on the basement PC.
Bonus goal: Complete fantasy draft to start new season.

Healthy Habit - Staying Hydrated

Monday, March 25, 2024 - 562 days until 50

The first healthy habit I am going to focus on is drinking more / enough water, staying properly hydrated.

I generally do not drink the appropriate amount of water in any given day. And I am completely sure that has had an affect on my overall health. This is a super easy and simple thing for me to add into my daily routine.

Drink. More. Water.

The first quetion naturally is, how much is enough?

Let's see what Harvard Medical School says about that:

For healthy individuals, the average daily water for men is about 15.5 cups and for women about 11.5 cups. That might mean you need only four to six cups of plain water, depending on other fluid sources such as coffee, tea, juice, fruits, and vegetables.

Soooo 15.5 cups of water from ALL sources. How much plain water is required to get there?
<Shrugs> I dunno.

How do I know when I have had enough?
I'll look at Realsimple for this one:

A great way to measure if you're getting enough water is your urine color and frequency," Sinatra says. "Urinating every 90 minutes to two hours is normal. If your urine is a dark amber color and you're only urinating every six hours, or longer, it's likely you aren't hydrated enough. If your frequency is every 30 minutes and your urine is completely clear, you may be getting too much water, and it's likely going right through your body instead of benefiting you.

And a reminder why I need more water, from WebMD:

1. Drinking Water Helps Maintain the Balance of Body Fluids.

2. Water Can Help Control Calories.

3. Water Helps Energize Muscles.

4. Water Helps Keep Skin Looking Good.

5. Water Helps Your Kidneys.

6. Water Helps Maintain Normal Bowel Function.

Now I am off to have a glass of water!

Here we go!

2024-03-24 - 563 Days until 50

In order to get the treadmill related items moving I need to first clean up and re-organize the basement. There is currently not enough space to open the treadmill in front of the TV.

Todays goal: Get the treadmill opened in front of the TV.
